The Dr. Jacob Wheeler Bird Society acknowledges those benefactors who have included MedStar Montgomery Medical Center in their estate plan or other planned gift arrangements.
Dr. Jacob Wheeler Bird founded MedStar Montgomery in 1918 as Montgomery County General Hospital—the first hospital in Montgomery County. Practicing medicine in the Olney area for 50 years, Dr. Bird encouraged the growth of a community hospital and laid a foundation for future generations. He was an avid volunteer in social and community work, a large supporter of philanthropy and dedicated to serving his neighbors.
